Road trip to Cradock!
Dom, our newest member of the AlexanderSmith team is always up for driving through our beautiful country. He got the privilege to shoot Nan and Sandile’s wedding at Bloemfontein farm.
It was a sweltering day on the day of the wedding. 40 degrees plus. The venue was on a working farm about 30mins outside Cradock called Blomfontein.
It is a virtual little oasis in the arid landscape, The shooting day started with an early breakfast and we got into shooting the awesomely decorated hall.
Soon my assistant Mark and myself were both shooting the guys and the girls getting there bling on.
I was with Nan and her bridesmaids and there were some good laughs while the ladies were getting ready. Open plan bathrooms being one of the reasons!
The ceremony was held in a lovely chapel on the farm with lots of natural light which is always a photographers friend.
Luckily it also had good ventilation as we needed it for the sweltering heat! It was an awesome ceremony and we managed to shoot plenty of images throughout.
Lots of fine things were spoken about Nan & Sandile at the reception.
Shooting late afternoon was the best as it was starting to cool down a bit! There were many awesome locations to shoot and we finished off on the top of the little pass that runs up to the farm with a lovely vista over the karoo landscape. We had an awesome evening with beautiful clouds and also a great team of Videographers to work with which helps!
Capturing the magical day was a privilege as always ! We worked hard and sweated but it was all worth it in the end with some epic images of Nan & Sandile special day.
