As we left the church the drops started falling… but it didn’t put a damper on the excitement I had to photograph such a beautiful couple on the rolling hills south of Johannesburg, plus they were so in love! Then as we stepped out on location the wind came up – “Not ideal I thought”… but when the lightning started flashing I started to wonder what the heck I was doing putting Jaimie and Raquel up against the elements like this. But they were rockstars and their bravery gave everyone such confidence… and as we used the wind and the rain as part of our shots… we started getting amazing images and were finally blessed with a gorgeous sunset and rainbow in the sky.
I think the shoot was a perfect picture of their marriage ahead… Sometimes it might be stormy out there… but as long as you keep staring in the eyes of your lover, eventually the storm will pass and the blessings will be abundant.
