If ever there was a wedding that caught us by surprise, then this Tumi & Peter’s wedding was it. When Gustav arrived at the house of Tumi’s parents, he quickly realised that this is going to be a wedding that will stand out. For what the couple and their sister Maseeiso (who arranged the wedding and booked us) didn’t tell him, was that Tumi was the daughter of Mlungisi and Sheila Sisulu, grand-daughter of Walter and Albertina Sisulu and there was a reason for this, which throughout the day repeated itself. The beauty of this family is that they are so humble. Everything they do is with a touch of class, but with such grace, that you can’t help yourself but respect them. It is little wonder why Peter, the son of Dr Nestor and Loide Shivute, a prominent Namibian Docter, fell so hard for Tumi. She is just the friendliest most bubbly person ever. Peter is man of stature, relaxed, soft spoken but with a lot of fun oozing from his natural swagger. And that’s why they made such a lovely couple. Their personalities feed off one another and when Peter broke down in tears when he saw Tumi in her magnificent dress, designed by the crazy David Tlale, you could feel the intense love all around.
Getting married at Summer Place is lovely. It’s a beautiful venue, but what makes a wedding special are the people. Two families coming together to celebrate the union of two beautiful people. Two families uniting two countries, as uncle Max remarked. But above all, two families so humble, so sincere.
It was a privilege for us to be part of this special union and we expresses our gratitude for allowing us to be part of the Shivute-Sisulu family for the day. It was epic!
